She’s not very progressive if she uses Facebook.

PWA?
Yes I do.
I use it at home often. Then when I travel I can play games on it. While on the plane I can also stream movies and tv shows from my server with Jellyfin.
Get to my work destination plug a keyboard and monitor in and I am now working.
Relax after by streaming music from my server while I am making dinner.
Nothing beats a steam deck.
Wouldnt hold your breath, unless microsoft finally realizes rootkits are a bad thing.
We replaced “Clock” with ClockPilot. It is so much better! Go ahead ask Clock Pilot what time it is!
You: Clockpilot What Time is It?
🤖 Clockpilot: “Ah, an excellent question! It’s breakfast time in 12 different countries, next week already in New Zealand, and—wait, hang on—did you know Saturn’s day is only 10.7 hours long? If you were there, you’d already be late for bed.
…Anyway. Locally speaking: it’s … thinking …did you adjust for Daylight Savings, quantum drift, or whether your cat stepped on your keyboard last spring?
Would you like me to set an alarm for:
Your next existential crisis, The heat-death of the universe, or Dinner?
You: Clockpilot I said WHAT TIME IS IT!
Why are you waiting so long? Windows XP pushed me over the edge and I switched to Linux then. Everything was suddenly better. Computers were useful and fun again.
What are you waiting for?
So make artificial limits on your playlist then.
Might as well stay home. That is the safest thing to do.
Its kind of nice to have but I would never think I need to have it. If I am going to the beach or downtown and just want to be in the moment putting these things away is very nice to do. People are way to tied to them. It is not a necessity.
By your logic we all should get those devices that you wear so it can auto call if you fall down. Sorry I am not going to be tied to technology, and least not to the point where I can’t just go out in the world without it.
No there were math errors. Was it using statistical functions? I can’t recall, I just know we had to double check everything.
You can’t be serious. You don’t need a phone to go outside.
They already did that with visual basic and excel. Anyone remember when excels math was, just sorta right?
How is it any different than making a playlist? You said a long shot, that’s not true.
I am not talking about Spotify, I never use it, but unless you are talking about the level of effort to make the tape, then what’s the difference?
Records are bulky, heavy, and horribly environmentally bad. Cassettes aren’t as bad but are really inconvenient.
I got rid of all of those years ago and I am so glad I did.
I still have a music collection, I don’t use streaming services though. And no no CDs either.
I still cant understand how people got onto there in the first place. When it came out it was obviously a bad idea.
If a business uses Facebook only, I boycott them.
Facebook and Instagram won’t let me view any of it anyways, but a business should have principles.
Why did it take this long? Facebook and Instagram use signals support of fascism.
Edit: Are you downvoters defending Facebook and Instagram? How it helps enable a fascist regime? Controls the narrative and all that, allows fake news, etc? Nevermind Zucks personal goals.
This is what is so fucked. People will whine and complain that things are getting expensive, that government is not on their side, that billionaires have too much. But it would be too inconvenient to actually quit using their products. Like who can give up facebook and instagram? That would be too hard.
Everyone participating in them is contributing. Zuck just bought 11 homes to make another compound this time in Palo Alto. Make no mistake, you using these services are what paid for that. You are providing money to lobby and change rules. You provide for a platform.
XP was when they jumped the shark, moved away and to Linux then. It is waaaay too late to give a shit what Microsoft does.
This is not true. They do not think or reason. They have code that appears to reason, but it definitely is not.
Once it gets off track it doesn’t consider that it is obviously wrong.
A simple math problem can fail and it is really obvious to a human for example.
I work on a day to day basis with Microsoft products and services, including cloud environments, SQL databases, Azure lakes, etc.
I do it ALL from Linux, and if I have to I will remote into windows machines. I do it because I don’t have time for Windows nonsense. I need my machine to work, so I can work and get paid. Linux is easy to set up and has very few surprises. It just works.
So… If you think that wonder what you could do about it? If only there was somewhat to get involved and make a difference…
