Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you could go back in time, what is the one thing you would change about computers or the internet?English
5·4 days agoCan I get a ELI5 on why IPv6 is bad or not very good?
That’s because it’s not representing the beginning of Lemmy but rather a point in time after.
Makes sense. Raptor Jesus was his name after all.
If you want it read in a punk rock voice… here you go.
That is some weird enshitification right there. Looks down at my 2012 G500 that recently got new mouse click actuators added to it by me. You’re doing just fine old friend! (It could use a new mouse wheel kit though.)

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What's it going to take to truly stop the US?English
17·13 days agoI’m genuinely curious what would happen if the US lost nearly all of their foreign investors and all/nearly all of their major trading partners. (I understand that this is highly unlikely, but so was the thought that another world war would happen and happen in less than 50 years. I’m also tired of holding my breath on these things…)

28·13 days agoFingers for eyelashes. If can bend them, this is even better. That means I can flip people off with “my eyes” and in rare occasions, quadruple flip people off.
Oh my bad. I guess I forgot to check the recent feed. Have a good one.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What communities would you like to see on Lemmy?English
15·16 days agoAs somebody that cares too much about Lemmy and the Fediverse surviving… I BEG YOU! PLEASE, please, please… be a bit more willing to post and comment. If everyone was willing to spend a little time looking for new content to post to a few of the niche communities that they’re part of, (especially the least active communities,) and posted once a month or so, we wouldn’t have so many “dead” communities. And this would lead to a more rich experience on the Fediverse.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the most unusual way you've made some extra money?English
1·18 days agoMan, I’ve dreamt of doing scrapping in the past but didn’t have a vehicle that would really workout for bigger items. But even then, I wish I would have done it with a friend or something. My focus would have been scrapping old electronics, printers, laptops, etc. How long ago did you do this scrapping stuff?

Trust me, I didn’t start this life with a desire to acquire so many (if any.)
Some of them were “gifts” from my parents. (Relatable post)

I’ve been wondering for sometime as to why those kinds of posts weren’t be removed and guided to another community. Like !microblogmemes@lemmy.world or !humor@lemmy.world

Thank you for the reply. That clears things up for me.
