    The reception Zelensky receives will be in stark contrast to this Alaska summit. Prepare for more ‘why haven’t you said thank you,’ because they are going to frame it as a quick end to the war and claim he is holding up the peace by demanding a ceasefire.

      Exactly what is “peace” if there’s no ceasefire to it? Did you mean he’s holding up peace negotiations pending a ceasefire?

        Zelensky, Europe, and, up until this very news article’s headline, Trump all have said that there should be a ceasefire immediately and then hash out the details of a longer term peace deal. Which is typically how it works, test the waters, show good faith, etc. Russia, and now Trump, are saying that the peace deal comes first, then the shooting stops. It’s basically saying capitulate, then we’ll stop invading.
