The Wire rode, and is still remembered for, the excellent writing and acting. Shit, even doing a scene repeating one word was fucking stellar. A reboot isn’t going to have the same teams working on it. You’re not going to keep fans of the original, so you’re looking at trying to only pull in new blood for a show that is remembered as absolutely golden.

it also struggled in the last season. Might be unpopular opinion but McNulty’s plot in that last season is jumping the shark + Flanderization
