    In the Netherlands we built the delta works project which basically was construction throughout the south west of the country for decades, 1954 to 1997.

    All sorts of awesomeness is possible if politicians can just focus on doing their job instead of some short term gains, but this also might require a different kind of democracy than Canada currently has

    We can aim a reshoring of domestic EV production even as the US fails to show up. We can use quality parts from Japan, South Korea, Mexico and elsewhere as needed instead of the US until we can produce our own.

    I’m not that crazy about electric automobiles as a solution as I am about electric trucks, boats, planes, bicycles, farm and construction machinery, and most of all, trains. However, considering Canada’s size, there’s a place for them in less populated areas: to create resilient cities, towns and communities that are less reliant on burning fossil fuels. Think about how a little hamlet could get through a snowstorm outage with the help of Vehicle-to-home charging and mutual aid.
