In Reddit, you are what you post. It’s essential to be able to see the others’ profiles; that gives them context on how to interpret what you say.
Hiding profiles is not an even remotely good privacy feature - because you shouldn’t be sharing private information in Reddit on first place. And it doesn’t work well to address harassment either; the thing with harassment in Reddit is mostly many-against-one, not one-against-one.
