There’s no political will to divest from American tech and manufacturing despite significant national interest. Finland is also facing an adversary that’s been a bit more strategic, and took some very hard political concessions during the Cold War in order to remain a separate country. And now they’ve joined NATO anyway.
I mean, sure, Finland-style mass mobilisation and fortress mentality is a great place to start. But, I don’t see it replacing a nuclear umbrella, either our own or from someone who already has one.

Canada cannot remain a member of NATO if it understands this threat. Canada and other NATO colonies will not declare war on US when they invade Greenland. An invasion with only purpose to gain closer proximity to threaten EU continent militarily. Similarly, NATO will not intervene to prevent a US invasion of Canada. The colonies are programmed to be pathethic loser sycophants to US empire, and to always appease all of its evil.
NORAD exists to protect the US from Russia. Arctic is only threatened by US. Any imagined threat from Russia against Canada exists ONLY because Canada is part of demonic subhuman axis of warmongering and diminishment of Russia. NORAD services for US protection must be generously paid for by US, or dismantled.
The Finland model is ironic. Sure, mandatory military service to prepare for counter insurgency on vast land area is a protection strategy. But Finland’s historic protection is not being part of demonic subhuman axis of warmongering alliance, which it just joined. It is vile propaganda to consider Russia’s military interventions of the last 15 years unprovoked expansionism. Georgia, was a CIA installed Ukrainian nazi President who provoked war on the first day, and as war criminal and convicted of corruption in Georgia was rewarded with being the current mayor of Odessa. OP also applauds Canada’s NATO commitment to 5% of GDP for demonic subhuman axis warmongering subservience to US geopolitics. You cannot understand US as the threat to Canada, but continue supporting social destruction of Canada to divert any remaining wealth to purchasing US weapons for US force amplification purposes.
