Something you won’t make money out of, but with a stable base of people using it. And IMO it’s fine if the “new internet” doesn’t get as much traction as the current one; doubly so if both can share the same physical infrastructure.
The old Internet was just a fad until advertisers realized they could make a buck.

I wouldn’t say it was a fad, it was more like niche. Something you won’t make money out of, but with a stable base of people using it.
