    That’s great, but the market is so oversaturated at this point that it’ll be considered a failure cause not everyone is going to immediately dump the stuff they have already…unless that is the point and this is just a gesture for shareholders.

      They’re probably betting on the incentive of easy integration into the Apple ecosystem. Yes, most people already with full camera setups at home won’t bother, but the apartment dweller who has iEverything and a single doorbell camera might consider switching. And of course those who Apple users don’t have any at all would choose this for convenience.

    I’m sure each camera will be $5000. Oh you want to store video from your Apple camera? That will be another $2000. Fuck Apple.

      The alternatives are a $30 camera that streams directly to China, a $99 linux based camera that requires a homelab setup, a $200 camera that streams directly to Amazon and your local police department, or a $500 camera that has AI built in and requires a business contract with a global distributor and requires professional installation.
