Trump claimed if Harris were elected we’d see World War 3. Every accusation is an admission.

Americans, when you speak of this with right-wing people, speak of it as an act of weakness and desperation. Strong countries with strong economies do not resort to colonial adventurism in the modern age. We are flaming out.

I wouldn’t classify acknowledging that Maduro was a bad and probably illegally placed leader while saying that international standards have to be maintained is praising it. That’s kind of like reprimanding your neighbors kid for punching an asshole at school. He certainly could be more forcefully about his objections, but there are good reasons he wouldn’t, as well.

And, as always, fuck Poilievre and his response.

“Praising it” was an exaggeration, but anything short of condemnation is essentially condoning it.

PP actually praising it was truly pathetic.

This is why the world needs to turn against hegemony and violence and toward international democracy and the global rule of law. That’s not happening in the US anytime soon, unfortunately. That’s why the world really, really needs the sane countries to step up and unequivocally commit to a rules based global order.

Unfortunately it wouldn’t change much. The current fascism is structural and enabled by many actors, companies and institutions, not tied to one particular person. When he dies, Vance will just continue doing the same.

The only thing that could initiate real change would be the majority of US citizens revolting (but the majority are currently brainwashed by fascist rhetoric on proprietary social media and Fox News) and/or retaliation from other countries.

You’re right that the current fascism is structural and supported by many actors, but revolting isn’t necessary to make the regime crumble. Instead, concerned citizens can work to weaken those pillars of fascist support until the regime can no longer operate.
