minus-squaresidebro@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·3 months agoHuh, Lort is the swedish word for dirt you’d get on your clothes. Wonder if they know. I won’t be that guy to tell them though, especially if someone else have told them already and they’ll be like “uugh not you too”.
minus-squaresidebro@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·edit-23 months agoI suppose it can mean that in swedish as well, as in “du har skit/lort på kläderna”
minus-squarestringere@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·3 months agoTrying to guess: “you have shit/dirt on your shirt”?
minus-squaresidebro@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·edit-23 months agoYepp, kind of, except it says on your clothes, so it’s less specific
minus-squarestringere@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·3 months agoOk, so kläderna is clothes. Interesting. Wonder how much that has to do with clad in English: transitive verb To sheathe or cover (a metal) with a metal. To cover with a protective or insulating layer of other material. To clothe. (I looked but didn’t actually find a link between the two)
minus-squareTommySoda@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·3 months agoI just like to say “Lort.” It’s a fun word to say.
