I use instaDM. I am not able to see what other people post unless I go to their profile, but default won’t show it anyway most of the time as it will mainly give short content videos so I just removed the feed altogether
EDIT: also try revanved manager with the disable scrolling patch
Well I have android too so I block all shorts with revanced. Maybe she can try YTLite ? https://github.com/dayanch96/YTLite I see on the screenshots there are some yt short settings

Sadly, I do not trust third party apps with my main account. There is so much to loose.
You can use Revanced Manager to patch it locally
