Not really if it’s a quick method of killing them.
Lethal traps can absolutely fail to kill the animal instantly and can let it suffer for hours before it dies or you find it and club it. Poisons usually aren’t fast acting either.
It’s kinda like how the most humane way to euthanize a pet fish is stomping on it really hard. Other methods like freezing or clove oil have a much higher chance of them suffering before they die.
