I rarely see anybody with one set, but yes, all PieFed instances allow users to set their own custom flairs next to their username for each community. Lemmy users won’t see the flair, but users on any PieFed instance do!

It look me way too long to realize this was an image. I was trying to reply multiple times 🤣.
Pretty easy for me as I tend to not comment too much other than about development issues and bug reports. So, I usually have my user flair set to PieFed Contributor or something along those lines.
I picked mine very carefully from a highly curated collection of very high quality images.
