EtherWhack@lemmy.worldto Mental Health@lemmy.world•What nickname do you have for your symptoms?English3·23 hours agoUntil you remember that you’re a hermit.
I think I remember seeing that going after pigeons is allowed also. Though, you may be restricted in how based on the city and/or zoning area.
A corn dog is also fried where the Wellington is baked.
It’s the equivalence of comparing cinnamon raisin bread to a pound cake
EtherWhack@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Florida Mom Mad After Raw Milk Got Her Kid Sick And Ended Her Pregnancy!5·2 days agoAside from the PPE restriction (which he was triaging for medical personnel), I had people say ‘he screwed up our health care’ or ‘he never did anything when Obama was in office’ or even the straight bigoted ‘he was Obama’s lackey, he’ll just screw things up’ along with various purely political excuses.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard any legitimate reasoning in the 5 years since he was removed, and I’m still waiting.
EtherWhack@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•During their visit to the United States, President Trump showed President Zelensky and President Macron his collection of MAGA hatsEnglish4·3 days agoSame. I didn’t think the cringe was that high with El Pedo. Of course, I guess it will always try to top itself
It’s more highlighting how silly it is in the grand scheme of the universe (whether we are alone or not) that we as a civilization are constantly fighting amongst ourselves with how we want to believe we got here.
The larger 'shroom looks like it’s ‘feeling up’ the smaller
You ever find yourself lost for half a day indenting 1000+ lines of code in a random script you opened because the original developer was lazy?
It ended up that way though
Just had his braces tightened.
EtherWhack@lemmy.worldto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•When you haven't told anyone you use Linux for a while3·7 days agoUhhh… I have news for you.
Ignoring the fact that this is on par for Apple… (Which does tend to disseminate to other brands due to popularity)
The only issue I have is the deletion of the dedicated dock port, which should have less wear and tear due to fewer insertion cycles. (you’d only use it at the office, home or otherwise) The other ports being combined into fewer ones is just part of technological evolution toward mobile efficiency. If you are on the go, whether on-site support or between locations, you aren’t going to be lugging around 2-3 monitors; a printer; scanner; etc. You’d normally want something lightweight and easy to manage, so you can be in and out quickly.
If you don’t move around while working or whatever, a desktop PC should fit all of your connection needs.

That’s my thinking. When the job is done well, it becomes very stressful and puts all of your morals and ethics to the test. Most people tend to cave at least a little bit and drift to the side of corruption. (our current flung itself headfirst to that side)
EtherWhack@lemmy.worldto Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL about the Concorde aircraft that flew at twice the speed of sound, and thad passenger flights from NY to London in three hours (versus 7 hours)English3·9 days agoThat may be true, but don’t forget about the aerodynamics. They have smaller, swept wings to lower any drag and to provide the proper lift at cruising speed.
At slow speeds they likely have the ailerons cranked near maxlift, just to stay aloft. (This likely causes or at least contributes to the fuel inefficiency, due to the increased drag.)
While getting it taken taken care of by a doctor is the more prudent option, the cotton trick can temporarily help in the meantime.
You pull a small strip of cotton about 2.5cm long from a cotton ball and stuff it under your nail, as if you were flossing your nail, with the ends of the cotton acting as a sort of cushion and softening the edges of the nail. You would then use a bandaid to keep it in place for the day. (also, you should use some antibiotic ointment before stuffing in the cotton if you have any broken/torn skin)
Again, it’s only a temporary solution, but it really does help with the pain.
EtherWhack@lemmy.worldto Leopards Ate My Face@lemmy.world•Couple alleges racial profiling in Border Patrol stop they recorded on videoEnglish1·13 days agoI say it’s willful ignorance, coupled with being physically separated from the at-risk locales. As every time I talked to one of ‘them’, they were always saying something along the lines of, “I haven’t seen anything on my end. I don’t know what the whole issue is. It must all be ‘fake news’.”
Working with and building circuit testers, I can say those pins also very likely have test pads routed to them for when the board was originally programmed. Look for un-tinned, smallish solder pads that looks like a needle may have pricked them.
