What a terrible way to campaign lol.
What a terrible way to campaign lol.
You should really research Newsom some more. One example is that he hangs out with, and a gives a platform to, Charlie Kirk on his podcast but there are far worse things, too.
Newsom is not the guy.
(That’s literally what conservatism is)
If you look at literally anything the GOP is doing and are still on the fence you’re either impossibly ignorant or at least evil-adjacent and pretty ok with it. Being “moderate” in US politics is embarrassing as even the US “far left” is just the developed world’s center.
A US moderate is a joke.
Yea it’s wild. Frickin’ love this stuff, especially when it’s all easy enough to learn and explain accurately enough for fun fact time.
A leaky prison at the bottom of the ocean.
Well, yea that. I know Hank Green likes to bring it up and he’s popular, and it’s come up with a bunch of other content creators, too. It’s fun, technically true, and enough people don’t know it yet so it’s great to bring up in the real world.
Plus it’s super cool to explain how our eyes are built for the ocean and they had to get a special lens on top to fix it. Or how we carry the sea with us in the form of all this salty water. Or the whole swimbladder/lungs/guts thing relationship I mean they’re all quite fun, really.
I also like explaining that octopuses are molluscs and, because we say that molluscs have one “foot”, it’d be more appropriate to say that octopuses are really just going around the world with eight funky toes and not eight arms.
If other people can look at Donald Trump and the Republicans of the last few years and still be on the fence then it doesn’t matter if they’re me or not, they’re at best very stupid but more likely they’re at least a little ok with all the terrible things they promised to do and that is pathetic behaviour I will never compromise on. That’s all I’ve been saying, and I don’t know why you seem to think that means I don’t understand the issue.
I’m not compromising with people who think that the basic human rights of minorities and working folk are optional. They can get their shit together or take a fucking hike and I’m not giving any validity to their willingness to throw peoples’ lives away just so the price of the groceries will still go up.
You don’t have the moral highground, you’re just terrified of having a strong opinion and so place yourself somewhere you can claim not to be “extreme”.
I could promise to do nothing to you OR promise to stab you in the gut. If you choose the latter because you want “change” and don’t care about what it actually is then you’re just an idiot who shouldn’t be making decisions.
Everything was on the table and extremely obvious. If getting centrists on the right side of history is more dependent on making them feel good and special than on getting them to just make the obviously right choices then everything is already fucked and they’re just going to keep moving the goalposts as they see what they can get away with. Everyone who “just wants change” will never vote far left, only far right, and that’s pretty fucking telling.
If you’re on the fence when Donald Trump is one of the options there’s no fucking help for you and I’m not going to sit here comforting your awful decision so you can feel like a special little baby.
So they were all terribly informed, were totally ok with all the bad stuff he promised he would do, and wanted a bad economy? I mean how does that sound like an excuse to you? Moderates ignoring all the bad stuff just to get something weak and crappy is most of the point that I was making.
Which is why taxation and regulations around worker protections and wages are so important. If we cannot trust individuals to do good things with their money then they can have a large enough pile to play with and the rest can go back into the world that carried them to their ill-gotten wealth.
Umm, people like Keanu Reeves because he’s been repeatedly shown to be a kind man to everyone he meets, not because he doesn’t play villains. Still don’t care if he’s in the list, it’s gotta get out, but you gotta understand these things properly.
People keep pointing out stuff like this but a country that has even the barest amount of collective sanity wouldn’t have even let him get beyond the party primary. 25% is a staggering number. Ya’ll I know that it still matters to say it and I’m not saying to stop but I keep hearing it in a context that heavily implies the rest of the world is ignorant for “not getting it” when we definitely already know there are good people in the US. Like, yea, you’ve got a handful of decent people but even your large number of “moderates” are capitalist Nazi sympathizers so…
Of course you needed a laugh, the US is a hellhole and not getting any better. Buddy I know mental health is treated badly in the US but lashing out at others isn’t going to make your situation any better. Build something better.
None of this deflection is making your crap country any better. Here in Canada we pushed our Trump-loving candidate out, even if barely, when there was no way we should have expected to come to that result. Now, in the face of our neighbour being absolutely batshit, we are standing firm and telling the US we don’t need them anymore. We are barely hanging on in many ways but we’re doing it even under the immense pressure from the south while those fools have really no need to be this way but cannot help themselves. Richest country in the world and all the tools to fix their problems but instead they’re here.
There is a lack of perfection in the world and things aren’t as good as they should be. Still, when the chips are down the Conservatives get denied, the AFD loses, and so on and so forth. Except in the US, of course, where things just keep getting worse and worse.
A sad country, that USA. Fix your shit.
Personally I’ve been wishing for car fires that they can’t escape from and, if they’re in a Tesla, there might be a chance of that.
Last year I heard a story or two of people who didn’t even know that Biden wasn’t running anymore and that was within a week of the election. Informed US citizens are rarer than you’d think.
Awww sweet baby. Your country is completely fucked and the best you can do is desperately attempt to deflect and justify. Fix your shit, it’s broken and so intertwined with everyone else(often by force and/or coercion) that we all definitely have good reason to complain. And if you’re so clever it should be easy, right?
Conned them and then Nashville, I think it is, is also paying him for it. True stupid, the US isn’t a country of learners, it seems.
Also when there needs to be a choice made and they rabidly choose the obviously bad one: “It’s a just a pick your poison thing, ya know?”
If I were to pick between two poisons I would certainly not choose the one labeled “100% for sure death” that was surrounded by an aura of death and decay but they just can’t stop themselves slurping that shit down like it’s juice.
