I heard Tolkien regretted making Orcs inherently evil and was thinking of replacing that with something else, but I cannot find which letter was that in.

I wish it was true that this is only “people who only play D&D” problem but I have also seen those argument with people who participate in rpg online communities or forums where they know and play other games. I’ve seen videos whining about orcs come from same channel with something like a 100 reviews of various different rpgs. Sadly I do not think this is only people who only play D&D who are the problem here.

I sure did not learn anything about ttrpg development or even what cool indie games I could support from following them, because all they do is complain about D&D. If you are D&D hate blog a) jsut say so instead of pretending to be something else and b) you are a D&D blog. Being defined by hatred of the thing is still being defined by the thing.

Exalted literally let’s you have your own army of mortals and it functions like an equivalent of grenade in most normal games - something to just throw at the bad guy.

I suspect you could do that in Mage: the Ascension (CAN YOU GUESS WHAT CAMPAIGN I AM PREPPING?!) I could see it as Prime 5/Mind 3 for super powerful blessing that makes people lose track of thought whenever they’re about to deadname you. A Mind 3/Life 2 would be less pwoerful version, you could probably add Correspondence to increase the radius of this passive effect. I do not think it may even cause too much Paradox either, it’s very Cointidental magic.
