They knew that their base wouldn’t turn out for a candidate who supported a genocide. They decided to run one anyways. They thought making sure Israel could continue its genocide was more important than winning against Trump. But yeah sure blame the people who aren’t sociopaths.
Imperialists and colonialists share the same beliefs as fascists. They just disagree on whether or not it’s time to turn the violence of the imperialist machine in on itself. As the decline of America continues, eventually the imperialist are guaranteed to relent and side with the fascists.
On top of that the DNC no legal obligation to run democratic primaries. Regardless of whatever wins democratic socialists have made, they’re so far from actually wielding enough power to meaningfully reform the American system. If they had any chance of success under the current rules then the DNC would just change them. The obvious conclusion is that voting alone will not stop the rise of fascism. It literally the least you can possible do.
I mean democrats voted to give weapons to Israel knowing full well they were using those weapons to carry out a genocide. That’s by definition pro-genocide behavior. They’re a group of people who were happy to enable the mass murder of innocent people including children because that’s what their donors wanted.
Vote for them is you must but you can’t rely on people like that to defend you from fascists. They’ll sell you out the second your life becomes an inconvenience to their wealthy backers. Those backers also happen to be the the same people busy funding Trump’s fascist project. You have to do more than vote to protect yourself and the people you care about.
All genocides are crimes that should be stopped. The US and Israel are primarily responsible for the genocide in Gaza. They might have roles to play in other ongoing genocides but it’s less direct. For US voters, the genocide their own politicians are voting to fund is of primary concern as it’s the one they have the most capacity to stop.
It’s wild to me that people don’t seem to understand that anyone who supports genocide out of political convenience will immediately sell their constituents out to fascists the moment it benefits them. It’s like they can’t conceive of how horrible of a crime genocide actually is. Choosing between two supporters of genocide is no choice at all.
There’s more to do to prevent the rise of fascism than vote. The democrats aren’t going to save you.
The people who didn’t vote because they were disillusioned by the democrats support for genocide are not really the demographic of people you’re arguing with online.
This isn’t about purity at all either. It’s just fact that democrats chose to support genocide knowing it would hurt their chance of success and they lost because of it. They consciously risked losing to fascists in order to support genocide. If you understand that then you’ll realize democrats are not truly opposed to fascism and that voting won’t do anything to stop its rise.
Yes we know, the democratic party is in favor of genocide and they are the only viable opposition to republicans who are also in favor of genocide. The difference is the democrat party’s base of support is generally not in favor of genocide while republican voters are. If democrats choose to lose the support of their base then they will have a hard time winning back the house, senate, or presidency. It’s that simple. All the blame for Trump’s win lies with the party and nobody else.
Accepting supporters of genocide in any way is the kind of Faustian bargain that guarantees fascism’s rise. You have to understand almost all voters are not applying the game theory you’re holding so tightly to. You can’t convince the mass of voters to do that either. Instead, most people understand that someone who claims to have empathy but simultaneously supports genocide is an untrustworthy snake. That’s enough to kill any sort of enthusiasm the democratic base might have had for any particular candidate. You don’t win that enthusiasm back by saying that a snake is better than a shark. The only real way for democrats to win then if for them to renounce their support for genocide. As the only real opposition to Trump they’re responsible for the consequences if they choose not to.
Biden still allowed for family separation during deportations alongside the whole remain in Mexico thing for asylum seekers. Democrats also consistently voted in favor of giving more money to DHS. Foreign policy didn’t change much under Biden. He continued the trade war against China, Trump’s designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terror, and unlimited support for Israel’s genocide. He also decided to keep Space Force and maintained a lack of transparency around drone strikes that Trump initiated. That’s not the end of it either. There’s a litany of other disgusting Trump policies Biden’s administration also decided to embrace.
A lot of what I listed is pretty easy to verify. It’s also not unique. Obama oversaw the expansion of the surveillance state that started under Bush. Clinton continued rolling back welfare programs just as Bush and Reagan had. This is just what politicians do. They pretend to be opposed to everything their opponents do and then when they get into office they just put a fresh coat of paint on some deeply inhuman policies.

Never give a billionaire credit for philanthropy. It’s either a PR scheme, tax evasion loophole, or vanity project for them. You don’t get that kind of money in the first place by being anything other than a sociopath and that’s not something that can be cured.
I don’t think Billionaires like Gates were corrupted by their money. Rather, I think only narcissistic sociopaths care to do all the fuck of things necessary to amass that kind of wealth and power. Anyone with a conscious would stop much earlier.
Almost certainly the latter. Gates has some of the best PR money can buy. Every damning revelation that has come out linking him to Epstein has been paired with Gates admitting to some less serious transgression.

The economic depression in Eastern Europe during the 90s created a lot of desperate people and vulnerable children that monsters like Epstein could prey upon. That’s why many victims of his trafficking operation were Eastern European.
Just because Gates is claiming that he slept with two supposedly adult Russian women doesn’t mean they were part of a Russian honeypot. Considering these admissions come on the back of the Epstein files release, I’m more inclined to believe it’s a limited hangout intended to soften the blowback from some of the sick shit Bill was alleged to have done with his friend, a known pedophile and child trafficker.

Unfortunately, I think most quality sources with broad coverage aren’t free. Even the paid sources almost always have a corporate bias. Of those the financial times probably does the least to editorialize. Beyond that I think you just have to find independent journalists or outlets with a narrower investigative focus that you can trust.
It’s more that Americans were spared the worst of the effects of imperialism exploitation because imperialism needs a stable base of operations. If conditions were as bad in the US as they are in other parts of the world there would be revolts and the whole system would collapse.
Luckily we don’t need any sci-fi tech to solve this problem. A French invention that’s already two centuries old at this point will do just fine.
I can’t give you a specific estimate but the DNC tried to burry a report that showed Kamala’s support for Israel cost her key votes. That should tell you what you need to know.
That said you can also just look at the vote differences between 2020 and 2024. Kamala lost more votes than Trump gained relative to the 2020 vote counts. It’s clear from those results that democratic turnout was depressed in 2024 when the admin’s policy towards Gaza was one of the most obvious divides between democratic leadership and democratic voters.
