All you are saying resonates too much with me… thankfully I have to deal with Windows only at work (and in a really painful way), I’ve managed to switch my home to Linux or BSD, even my old gaming rig.

I understand them: I am an old Linux user, used to the command line. In there, once upon a time, a command has only on way to be called, and that way was the name under which the command was known and distributed. Aliases were a personal customization made by the user for his own amusement. I am still under the assumption that if a program is presented to you as X, then X is the command to type to run said program. But I understand this is now not as obvious, even in the Linux world.
That’s part of the issue: in the picture is written “Terminal”, so I expect to find it if I search Terminal. I don’t care what is the real name under the hood, I’m searching something for the name you have given me.
Thank you, but it won’t be necessary. I think my issues are hardware -related, or simply my NAS is under too much load from other applications 😅 Other than that I should try with the Chromecast as you suggested, maybe the problem was the shitty client application…
If I don’t succeed I’m still good with Plex, and I have a raspberry hanging around for an emergency Kodi.
In my case, I was not able to make jellyfin work: transcoding issues, lagging, client disconnection or unresponsive… Plex worked flawlessly out of the box with the same hardware and the same library.
From time to time I try Jellyfin again, but things never change …
He’s right: I use only 501s straight, and after a year at most the fabric between the thighs is very thin if not ripped (yes, I am chubby).
On the other side, I have an old pair of jeans of unknown maker dismissed from my uncle which I use weekly for yard work: ten years in my possession, unwashable stains, destroyed sockets, but the fabric is still perfect.

For the woke part, the whole game is a critique of white colonialism: there are multiple factions, but it’s clear as the sun that the good one is the islanders oppressed by these new factions that came to.their territory ignoring or destroying their culture. Which it’s fine, I get and I agree with it, but after 20 hour I’m really full with it…
Well you get to manage a fortress, and that is a whole quest line plus an infinite number of random quests. Then how the final battle goes depends on which quests you completed during the story (but not only), how you completed them and on which choices you make in the first half of the final mission. Lastly, there is a huge dungeon with multiple stories each more difficult and more lootable the deeper you go.
I had a blast.
First one was a blast, especially with the whole fortress thing. Second one was good, but felt diluted and with “too much woke” shoved down your throat… Nothing against the themes per se, but not constantly in your face.

Exactly, that is IMHO a not-so-sane default that some application launcher adopts. Thankfully you can switch to a more “normal” behavior, it’s a flag somewhere in the configuration menus for the application launcher, at least in KDE and in XFCE
