In addition to the great summary by /u/FleetingTit, his cabinet is full of lobbyism, most egregiously in the form of the support of fossil fuels. He pushes the narrative of the far right party and even votes with them despite promises not to. He implemented illegal border controls (or his ministers did but he openly supports it). He’s also inviting war criminals from Israel (protest against Israel is suppressed sometimes quite brutally) and appeases Trump.

Just some things of the top of my head in no particular order.

Yes it does. But that’s not due to vegans, is it?

Regarding individual action, being vegan is likely the most effective thing one can do to reduce ones own emissions (except if you’re a frequent flyer, then stop flying). Yes, that’s under the assumption that individual action induces change. But that would also be arguing against switching to bikes, using public transport, and less flying.

You’re completely right that we need systemic change. And to get there, protesting, direct action, civil disobedience are likely the best we can do and far more effective than individual changes. But these actions also only become effective once there is an actual systemic shift.

They did so again Saturday afternoon as a group tried to break through barriers toward the city’s convention center.

Police also used pepper spray and batons indiscrimantely and unprovoked. But of course, they wouldn’t say it.

There actually is a great solution for small vehicles to transport one person and a bit of luggage in cities: cargo bikes and (e-)bikes with bike bags.
