medem@lemmy.wtfOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you know of a dating app which caters primarily to heterosexuals, respects your privacy, doesn't use analytics and doesn't require G00g13 services to function properly?9·19 hours agoActually, double thanks. First because I was indeed considering eharmony before I saw its ranking in that page, second because I didn’t know anything at all about the ‘Privacy not included’ series, which apparently covers many other topics such as ShitGPT. I owe you one ;)

A Friend of mine met her SO there indeed, but I’ve lost contact with her over the years AND somehow the app name registered in my brain as ‘Blueharmony’ which of course didn’t yield any search results… As stated elsewhere, I really don’t care about paying.

I’m sorry if my words hurt your feelings (or not, it’s not like I’m insulting, bullying or intimidating anyone), but your comment is so grossly out of place/scope that I’m finding it really hard not to believe you’re trolling me.

I actually go out quite a lot for someone who has 2 jobs, which makes the quest all the more frustrating.

medem@lemmy.wtfto Technology@lemmy.world•This CEO laid off nearly 80% of his staff because they refused to adopt AI fast enough. 2 years later, he says he’d do it againEnglish21·1 day ago…which is why I categorically refuse to use the term Artificial intelligence .
Reminds me of the w10->w11 upgrade in one of my former jobs.
For most of the upgrade process, there was the common Windows blue screen. In the foreground, a big fat clickable ‘OK’ button, and right underneath, the phrase ‘Your upgrade is underway. Do NOT press OK!’
I still can’t forgive myself for not having asked a chick for her number after I had a good dance with her at a party…25 years ago. She was very pretty, exactly my kind of woman, at least physically, which is presumably why I was afraid to ask. It made me realise that I absolutely prefer to deal with the pain of rejection than to deal with the resentment and self-loathing of not having asked a woman out, asked for her number or even just talked to her.

Apparently, too many people got offended by me using the word ‘heterosexual’ (take a peep at a particular exchange below, it’s a joy to read). The reason I was specific is that there are apps which specifically cater to non-heterosexuals, something I made clear in a comment that was also heavily downvoted.
