Did they make those laws based on the one in a million?

(I just mean like when that nerd high schooler gets an advanced college degree and they go on the news for it every year or few - like presumably that kid’s parents would know whether they could marry a 20 year-old or whether the older partner should be castrated)

  • Risk: alienation of allies who need a break

Eventual potential outcome: creation of new space with strong prohibition on political content

    anecdote etc

Last year I saw a tenacious activist get booted from a large group chat for discussing humanitarian crises. It is more than likely that the vast majority of the people in the group shared the opinion of the activist. It came to mind, though a person who Worked at an NGO all day and all week, and wanted to come to the group chat on the weekend to Find out about live music, and they were forced to relive the horrors of their work week. Limiting their ability to recharge. Impacting Their work performance. Impacting lives of those it’s their job to help.

There’s also a world where no one ever wants to talk about anything difficult ever, I know.

I want to be aware of Of every individual walking the planet And be considerate Wherever the heart demands, and there are very strong Factors Which make it easy to pose a cost-benefit analysis To undermine my point. So I write without prescription here, food for thought

  • Oop yeah! Limited success with AdGuard (paid), or self-hosted PiHole. Should be less than less effective as time goes on because apps can serve ads from first party domains, I imagine.

Does work for some apps though; might require manual filter list updating (open AdGuard & tap refresh) given advertiser cat-and-mouse.

(Edit: speaking at least to iOS^)

Edit: Apple protecting their business interests by locking the platform down for sure. Also a few fewer grandma iPhones in botnets, but at great cost to us nerds.
