Okay, then why do they have to describe the character on Wikipedia?
There’s no actual Unicode font with that character?
There’s no reference image scans of that character?
Hell, the one and only one close example is a mirror image.
To me, what I saw on my screen is a number 3 with a couple dots.
Look, I’ve dealt with lead printing press plates, over 3000 fonts on computers, and have proven handwriting forgeries in court.
Yet I’ve never seen the ampersand symbol written, printed or typed in that manner, and Wikipedia doesn’t even seem to have much of any visual evidence of it, just a description…
Point is it’s apparently not recognized as a standard Unicode character. I don’t read E and 3 the same way, I’m not dyslexic.
So I saw an unusual character I have never seen before, and wondered what the character’s origins were. What I discovered is that it’s apparently a dyslexic mirror handwritten ampersand of a long lost character typeface or handwriting style.
Initially I thought it was just a custom fancy handwritten 3.
So sue me for never seeing dyslexic mirror graffiti out in the wild before.
Point is it’s apparently not recognized as a standard Unicode character
The standard ampersand is U+0026, and there is also a small ampersand, a full-width ampersand, a turned 180-degree ampersand, and 6 stylized versions that were carryovers from wingdings. It is also significantly older than Unicode, and is a standard key on qwerty keyboards (shift-7)
I apologize if I have somehow upset you or others with my lack of knowledge on what this meme graffiti refers to.
I happen to live in Mississippi and still haven’t seen a single news report of a second hanging, nor has anyone even shared an actual news article link covering the second hanging.
Keep in mind, Mississippi is actively blocking and censoring our internet and news, and the only one hanging they have covered, they’ve declared it as a suicide. So I had no clue why what appeared to me to be a list missing #1, my fucking bad.
Literally no news here in this state regarding a second hanging, so sorry I was in the dark on this. Sorry I misinterpreted the ‘meme’, I’m living in the very state trying to keep us in the dark on this.
You do NOT have to be a douchebag, literally two days after the comment you so rudely told me to shut up on. After two days (can you count days?), I had already shut up.
But you just had to rudely resurrect the mostly dead thread to start shit. Try to be better than that, like maybe provide me a link to an actual news article regarding the second hanging or something, cuz only Tate Reeves and the other politicians of Mississippi know why they’re literally keeping that out of our own news…
Or, ya know, if all you can do is curse at me, two days after the comment you responded to no less, there’s a simpler solution, you could just move on your merry way…
I’d like to think you might understand a little better now and might possibly try to be a better person than just cursing.
You could either ignore me, block me, or if I may ask, do you have a proper news article link to update me on what Mississippi is apparently censoring?
Yes, I gathered as much. Again, I left that conversation two days ago, because it really doesn’t matter. I found myself confused, never saw such a mirror image alternate ampersand symbol before, and made a dummy assumption that it was a number 3 with a couple odd emphasis dots above and below, which led me to believe there was a missing #1 that had eroded on some old grafitti.
Clearly I was mistaken, clearly I was out of the loop, and if it made you and others feel any better, I apologized, for being censored from proper Mississippi news. They’re still declaring that there was only one hanging near Delta State University, and they’re still declaring that was a suicide.
I’m sorry I didn’t know what’s up when I initially commented, and yes I feel a bit embarrassed. But who should feel more embarrassed? Mississippi politicians that seem to be deliberately keeping their citizens in the dark and ignorant to this.
This level of censorship on such tragic events is fucking disgusting!
I’m glad we can have a bit of a civilized conversation now. Would you happen to have a link to a proper news article regarding these recent tragic events?
One of them was black, but there are other similar events that have happened outside of Mississippi. Use google. America doesn’t like to identify lynchings, but there is a long and stable history of beaten dead bodies found in trees and tied to fence posts, a bit of an odd and difficult way to commit suicide if you ask me.
Damn yo, thank you for sharing a proper link at least.
Sorry about my misunderstanding and our fuss and whatnot, but that’s altogether messed up ☹️
I found the article via Tor (fuck Tater Reeves and his kind, and fuck Google), but seriously they seem to be censoring the full facts here in Mississippi…
There can’t be a coincidence, I don’t think anyways…
“I was wrong on the internet, so YOU must have a disability to have understood what several other people understood.”
If you had just humbled yourself and said “oh shit, I didn’t know that. I learned something today. Thanks, guys!” then everybody would cheer you on. Have a better attitude, seek self improvement, and you’ll be a much happier person surrounded by pleasant people.
Fair, was focused on messing around with the marks above and below and forgot to double-check. ̗̀𑙓
[Dead-horse beating edit so you’re not getting useless notification spam: I see what you mean, it’s not very consistent between my devices either. Haven’t found a combination that matches, looks good, and shows up correctly across the different systems.]

Tf you want them to do? Link to an interpretive dance on the subject? It’s Wikipedia. They explain shit.

Holy shit, shut the fuck up.
Holy fuck that shit was unnecessary, that was 2 days ago.
Clearly I already shut the fuck up, you should try doing the same, asshole.
No, seriously, just shut the fuck up you insufferable twat.

I was referring to you arguing about the validity of the “&” symbol.

Thank you for the link, but I’ll pass on using Google.
May I remind you again, Mississippi is censoring our internet and news, duh.
I’ll check your link through Tor though.
Cool story.

Yes, because people like you must have Dyslexia and didn’t see the reverse image I did.
Lmao.

The final character in your last posted comment doesn’t even show up here, it’s just a box with an X in it.
I’ll take people’s word on it…
