I’m no berryologist, but the kodiak bear is presumed to be far more aggressive.
Anyway, don’t remember the documentary, but it showed a bear pick up the scent of a moose from miles away and kept the scene going as it ran a marathon until it caught up.
So if a bear wants to eat you, you’ll only see or hear its charge. Otherwise it doesn’t want to eat you.
