How about we talk about making it mandatory for young adults no matter their background and wealth to work in some form of retail or food industry?

The very question of asking them to be a public service to be prepared for war only means that the adults in the room have failed absolutely miserably that we have to go back to that point again in human history. What an absolute disgrace.
