I made the biggest political donation of my life after this policy was announced - and sent a screenshot to my (barely elected) UCP MLA letting him know. There’s a lot to hate the UCP for, but this one really takes the cake.

Seriously, what are these people thinking? Do they honestly believe they’re making anything better for anyone or do they very much know they’ll be killing thousands of innocent and just don’t give a fuck about that?
Making it harder to access vaccines means more people get sick. More sick people means more people in the hospital. More people in the hospital overwhelms public health, thus “proving” public health doesn’t work and it’s time to privatize. This is all by design.
For sure, but how do you sleep at night?
You need to let go of what you can’t control, to a point. Focus an what you can do. Vote. Convince others who don’t vote to vote. Educate people when the opportunity comes up. Get active in your community. Most importantly, show love, compassion, and empathy to those around you. Don’t let right-wing rhetoric break you. Always try to be good, but never fail to be kind.
One thing you can start doing today to help curb the maga rise from the south is start transitioning off big tech. Dump social media. Get an email provider that’s ideally privacy focused (Proton, Tuta), and stop using Google. The push for privatization comes from greed, which is compounded by Capitalism. And I’ll say it once more, dump social media. It’s predatory and only exists because of engagement from its users. Social media purposefully feeds divisive, toxic, misinformed bullshit to rile you up and get you to engage. Trust me, you’ll sleep better.
Never ascribe malice to that which can be explained by incompetence. I truly think they believe the bullshit they spew. They are the heros of their internal monologues.
As the article explains very clearly, this goes way beyond incompetence. It is most certainly deliberate.
