Judge rules bike camera footage is legal, as phone-driving solicitor’s attempt to sue camera cyclist for breaching data protection laws and enforcing “police-controlled state” fails
The article title shows the world isn’t entirely crazy
“The idea that data protection has any bearing on being filmed driving your car on a public road and committing traffic offences is ridiculous,” he said.
Yeah.
You know how you could avoid getting caught using your phone while you’re driving? How about don’t use your phone while you are driving.
I was in a traffic jam the other day and the car to the left and slightly in front of me was just rolling back almost a car lenght, stop, and then move up again, rinse and repeat. The car behind her just moved back a bit every time. When i moved up i saw that some lady was driving who was just glued to the phone, just rolling back, driving forward. She didn’t even acknowledge the road or anything surrounding her. Next to her was a teen, with headphones on, gued to the phone and vaping.
This sounds like some boomer shit probably, but that was honestly so dystopian to see.
From what I have herd you have no expectation of privacy in a car. You also have no expectation if you are out in public. you have we dirty hands if you where breaking the law and where caught.
That’s how it is in the US, but i think the UK has slightly more limiting laws about filming people in public

The blind entitlement level of drivers is often comical.
The driver had a dashcam that proved the cyclist was videotaping her in her car! /s
