It would be a waste of time and money. Trump isn’t going to honour any deal so why go to all this effort to pretend it’s a real thing?

Wouldn’t even have time to get it to a referendum, the way Trump 2.0 is ruling.

Bingo. It’d just be a chance for him to insert himself and insist it be called the “we love Trump” referendum.

I’m against it. We elected people to represent us. Let the experts deal with it.

Case in point: Brexit. People were swayed to vote “yes” because they were told life would be great. Now, they regret their choice.

I’d rather experts make decisions instead of having a big general vote. The UK fucked themselves in the worst ways possible in a referendum vote because a whole bunch of them hate immigrants. Don’t think Canadians wouldn’t do the same thing. We’d vote for 200 years of isolation over a half decent trade deal just because people don’t like Trump and are willing to harm themselves if slightly inconveniences him.

“We should defer to our leaders if they want to appease fascists”

Is this really what you wanna go with?

This, too, is buying into Trump’s agenda, in a skewed kind of way. There’s a reason that he publicizes every detail of his negotiations in the media. The average citizen isn’t capable of making a rational decision on anything about the US at this point.

If he lasts that long. This govt could honestly get their fall budget voted down - and if it has the cuts to the civil service that Carney is promising, you have to wonder if he would even hold onto his Ottawa seat.

I think this piece is fantastic, however there is an approximately 0% chance Carney would commit to this, because he is a sniveling coward who cares infinitely more about the portfolios of his Brookfield and banker pals than about democracy, the rule of law, human rights, or climate.

I dare you to prove me wrong, Liberals.

I want to believe that it is barging tactics to bend Trump over the Barrel and have that Cracker F him up when the CUSMA renewal comes up.

It’s funny you should say this, about the most conservative-like and conservative leaning leader that the Liberals have every had.

The only thing the modern day conservative party stands for is grift and insulting others, and your comment further proves just that.
