The key word is avoid, I still go to these places. Also, we don’t know who instances are ultimately ran by. Having said that, still lemmy is way better than reddit which I avoid almost completely. I can only come up with 4:

      • LemmyWorld- They curate their front page and at the very least, have rogue admin
      • ml - They have a trolling vibe and get angry easily
      • hexbear - not federated with my instance
      • maga - not federated

There are ways to transfer your settings, but I think that’s it. If you’re already there, I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

They have such a large proportion of lemmy, that’s how they can control the front page. If you get friends to join, make sure they try either another instance or maybe piefed? That way, they won’t have as much power. Try to post to other instance communities, regardless of what instance you’re on.

You probably won’t have any issues with the admin, I was watching them carefully when I was there because I they were acting wild from the get go. They were deleting my posts days later for some reason? That admin is still there. I love sh.itjust.works, but I want to try piefed.

I haven’t gee here or know enough to truly understand but I think you can create an instance about pretty much anything provided it’s legal.

MAGA, despite it standing for what it does isn’t illegal. It just gets defederated by other instances.

That’s the opinion of a loose Aussie cunt booted from Reddit though so salt that heavily as you wish.

You are right, but Lemmy is a magnet of leftists, vegans and linux users for a reason. I mean, there obviously is some far right overlapping… but how many could there be to sustain an instance?

I don’t know. You’re right there can’t be too many. They don’t do well in their own echo chambers, thats why they get vaginasandy when they’re banned from leftist or even centrist spaces.

Thanks. Although I was sort of just making a joke with my comment. I have seen a bit of ml and hex, but ended up just ignoring them haha. Thanks for your advice though.

Apparently Nav York, you know the one on the eastern side of Colorado. And don’t forget Chicago which is in Kansas or Oklahoma.
