Anybody that claimed that Trump would be a peace president was very clearly lying, and I don’t believe anyone who claims to have believed that he would have been. He didn’t fool anyone, he just gave them a flippant and obviously false reason to not vote for Harris.

You underestimate people’s willingness… (desperation?) To be lied to. They wanted to believe it because he said everything they already believed and wanted to hear.

      That is actually factually untrue.

War and his reticence to be involved in them was one of the best things about his presidency (of which there were few, of course), and he actually disentangled us from Afghanistan and Syria. (Though it fell to Joe Biden to do the actual withdrawal, it was Donald who negotiated the redeployments.) Democrats, on the other hand, opposed both of these redeployments.

There was every reason to believe he would keep us out of foreign wars, because of his actual record as president, until he needed a big distraction from being publicly tagged as a pedophile.

He didn’t lie about war, not before a month ago.

His record was disentangling us from foreign wars. This meme ignores a ton of historical context.

Now I just wish we could get Democrats to give a crap about war at any point when it isn’t a matter of political convenience.

How can you not see that it was a line? Trump doesn’t have principles, he never has had any and never has had any. What he has is the ability to sell people his promises to give them what they want. But trumps promises and assertions are no more meaningful than the sound of the wind and his “best things” are all as hollow as the call of the srens luring the sailors to their deaths.

It was standard fake-leftist trump-lie-repeating counterfactual shit. No thank you. You’re still sticking to the braindead genocide joe line of reasoning even now. There is no hope for the return of rationaility. I’m speaking to someone who actually believed in trump!
