Uh, short answer? Steve bannon (and maybe the cia, given they apparently run fucking 4chan? I gotta say; did not guess that one) ruined the youth starting in the 2010’s, nobody really stopped him, and like 5 decades of right wing media ecosystem have ruined the old.
So being a piece of shit is pretty normalized.
I feel kinda lucky. I still watch a few (minecraft youtubers mostly), but i think less than 10 were unsubscribed for… reasons.
