Bandai Namco has a history of neglectoing Digimon games in very absurd ways.

Games barely had marketing so people didn’t know for years that Digimon has games. And the ones who knew were ignored so certain games never leave Japan.

They made a shovelware smash bros like for ps3 to check interest from west market after massively failing with the XrosWars dub (Fusions).

DigimonWorld NextOrder was launched on ps4 in 2017 and took 6 years to be released on PC and Switch (and they didn’t updated ps4 version with the new improvements). This was a Vita game.

Also launching Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition to include Hacker’s Memory and DLC digimon but not updating og CyberSleuth in ps4 so it got removed from store at some point and only remains Hackers Memory.

Then you got Survive, the game was supposed to be released on the summer of 2019 but instead they launched an Appmon tower defense mobile game for Korean market. After that Survive got in development hell, and dead silence to the point we didn’t know if the game was secretly cancelled, so they one day came out and said "sorry we switched engine and devteam don’t worry heheheh it will be out by 2022 :) "… This is supposed to be a small project for giving something while they work on TimeStranger lol.

And I could give more examples but I assume you get the idea.

So even with all the issues TimeStranger has, for me is still a win over previous games.

Don’t get me wrong, is a great game, I’ve simping for it and been playing a lot.

The issues I mean are mostly external like Denuvo being there, base game being expensive in US and Europe and the deluxe edition not including de anime song and farming mazes lol

Ackshully, what has made this game so pricey is the lack of regional pricing. In that they are charging the literal converted value of the game in foreign currency to us.

Games with regional pricing, even the pricey ones, tend to go for about ~250 beans.

        Ah, Bandai-Namco right?

I notices that’s a thing with Japanese developers - most don’t give a shit about Steam’s regional pricing feature. Maybe because they fear VPN shoppers or something.

Why not buy Steam keys? Is it just as expensive buying through Humble Bundle or some site that sells legit keys?

That would not be meaningfully cheaper, as buying a key from a reseller would mean paying in USD probably, and what’s escalating the price is Bandai not bothering with regional pricing.

I don’t live in Brazil, but from what I’m aware of, Steam does keep track of where regional purchases are made and restricts them from being redeemed by accounts in other regions (Most examples are eastern European/SEA gamers being unable to gift games to other territories)

Additionally, even sites that sell “legit” keys may come with strings attached that are risky for the buyer (G2A has laundered game keys bought with stolen credit cards, whose chargebacks can and will ban your account), and often don’t apply regional pricing at all compared to straight from steam.

This leads to prices sometimes that due to currency conversion rates (and regional discounts), may seem cheap to western gamers but very expensive for South Americans or SEA/Eastern European gamers (Some companies don’t even care and just charge full US price).

Well, if that isn’t fucking relatable, then I don’t know what is. When I was a kid I thought I’d have a bunch of tattoos… LOL

As another brazillian, if they dont do regional pricing I take that as them saying they don’t want my money, so I just pirate it. Though no idea if that game has denuvo or not, in that case I wont even pirate it.
