Shutter blinds slap. But that picture where they aren’t covering the whole window is really bothering me
I just don’t get their purpose, other than being a signal to others of wealth. Are they easier to clean somehow? Do they give a rich wooden smell to the room? What’s wrong with vertical blinds

If they actually covered the whole window they can turn direct sunlight into absolute darkness. If they are installed properly (made from metal, outside the window, build into the wall) they can protect your window from break-ins and vandalism.
