So many layers of hell to this. Why is someone buying his likeness when they can generate a random person and use that instead. Also tiktok is such a shit platform it purely exists to manipulate people.

It only gets worse from here. We need to stop.

"Early man walked away, as modern man took control

Their minds weren’t all the same, to conquer was his goal

So he built his great empire, and he slaughtered his own kind

Then he died a confused man, killed himself with his own mind"

This song always makes me think of this ai bullshit nowadays.

Who is going to want to work with an actor who has sold their likeness? People could generate ads with the actors likeness talking about how bad the end product you hired them for is. This is beyond a bad contract deal. It’s extremely damaging to their image which at a certain point is all an actor has.

My point is that long term it’s even less money for the actors than just the low upfront payment. Yes, they got some upfront, but it was a bad deal and could cost them future projects. It obviously makes sense for TikTok and I doubt the companies using the ai for ads are scrupulous enough to care what else the ai they selected is selling. I’m just saying it’s double stupid to do this. You’re not getting paid enough upfront and you’re also potentially losing jobs because of this. Not to mention contributing to ai use and decreasing the demand for actors in general.
