ohhhhhhh this is a big indication that people should not be using AI

when has a corporation saying “use our tech or you are dumb and your life must suck” ever been true?

You know, German has a word—Fremdschämen—that means feeling embarrassment on behalf of someone else (someone else you don’t even know and who is oblivious to your embarrassment on their behalf). I think about that word a lot when watching degenerative AI fans babble about “their” writing or “their” art.

Nvidia CEO says you’re “Insane” If you don’t outsource the act of thinking to AI owned by big tech assholes.

You jest, but chatbots are essentially that. Don’t doubt for a second that as soon as it becomes viable to satisfy users physically like that they won’t hop on that train immediately and slap a subscription on it.

This is just marketing. It’s not aimed at us anyway, we’re not setting up antire data centres to run AI.

AI could be a few orders of magnitude more useful than it is now and I still wouldn’t use it because I don’t trust the people on the other end of the chain.

This is not a debate about efficacy for me, it’s a matter of trust. Easy for NVIDIA to tell their employees to run their AI. But I can’t afford to trust an agent of a corporation to integrate itself into my life in that way.
