It was a huge movie and the whole thing looked like they had a budget of about $20 and about $19 went on the set so they had to get the script written by somebody they hired of fiver

I also hated the recreation of young Rachel concept. It made no sense to me and felt like it should make no sense to Decart either. I wish Leto’s role would have been toned down to allow for the film’s meditative and well emotionally built parts to shine.

Aronofsky movies are hit and miss with me. They can be brilliant like Black Swan or melodramatic nonsense that mistakes dour abjection and misery with plot. I’d rather go with Trainspotting if I want the “drug addict’s hell-ride” story. It comes up to breathe every so often with some levity and heart.
I’m NGL, I’ve only watched Requiem twice, the first time for a school project! Maybe it isn’t as interesting as I feel it was. On the other hand, Pi is one of my favourite films and the one I rank highest in his filmography, maybe give it a try? 👍

When the plane flies through a mountain of snow, and just continues as normal, I had to shut it off. The shitty dialogue and dumb writing I could somewhat tolerate, but building up to a catastrophic turn of events, just to have the plane made out of fucking unoptanium, or adamantium or some shit is where I draw the line.
Everyone died on the plane, and the smouldering wreckage is now stuck in a pile of snow on top of a mountain. The end. Movie’s over.
I watched it purely because I heard how bad it was. It’s full of that kind of crap lol, from the air traffic guy over the radio hitting on the lead out of nowhere, to the plane nosediving for what felt like 5 mins, it’s super ridiculous. Brought to us by Mel Gibson is the funniest part of the whole thing imo.

Stranger Than Fiction shows Will Ferrell is perfectly capable of being a good actor playing interesting roles, but chooses to just play low effort trash.
The first one that comes to mind is Jared Leto. Can’t stand him in any role but I will tolerate him in Requiem for a Dream. And even then I’ve only seen that movie once which is more than enough.

I highly recommend The Little Things where he did a great job even though I hate him too. He was good enough to break through my disgust for him as a person and just be disgusted purely by the character he portrayed.
